Orrefors greets spring with international flair and true love!
Orrefors’ creative designer Lena Bergström found new inspiration in Sydney, Rio de Janeiro and Cairo. The new designs in our already popular series Carat City Stoppers take us from the famous Sydney Opera House, to the world-famous classic shape of the Egyptian pyramids, to hot samba rhythms in Rio de Janeiro. Each City Stopper is hand cut and exclusively packaged.
Top designer Efva Attling pays tribute to love in her new series for Orrefors. Handmade, clean-lined champagne glasses embraced by a silver Crazy Heart. A toast to love!
Crazy Heart – Champagne
Design: Efva Attling
With unfailing style, Efva Attling has created a romantic glass that harmonises with her Crazy Heart jewellery collection. With extreme precision, the glass blowers in our Småland studios added extra depth to each glass, resulting in a flute that makes the champagne bubbles last little bit longer. Each glass is embraced by a shining silver Crazy Heart signed by Efva Attling. The perfect gift for an engagement party, newlyweds – or anyone who believes in love!
Carat City Stoppers – Bottle stopper
Design: Lena Bergström
The first Carat City Stoppers pieces featured Milan, Tokyo and Stockholm. Now we visit the other continents with the metropolises of Sydney, Cairo and Rio de Janeiro. The glittering, hand-cut stoppers reflect elegant, appealing shapes. The Sydney Opera House, the pyramids of Cairo and the sensual samba were Lena Bergström’s inspiration this time around. Just like their predecessors, this year’s City Stoppers make perfect gifts.
Intermezzo – wine and carafe
Design: Erika Lagerbielke
Intermezzo is a true classic for both Orrefors and Erika Lagerbielke. The art glass pieces with the blue droplet have become a worldwide sensation, and the popular series adorns many homes. Erika Lagerbielke is a true wine connoisseur, so it’s no surprise she is expanding the series in spring 2012 with two new wine glasses. The shape is a little rounder and enhances the characteristics of the wine while adding a touch of elegance to the table. The glasses come in two sizes, one for red or white wine and one for sweeter wines. In addition, a new carafe featuring the same rounder shapes will emphasise all the best qualities of the wine. With these new additions, Orrefors and Erika Lagerbielke bring Intermezzo into a new era, dividing the beloved series into three classes based on variations in design and function: Classic, Modern and Bar. The new wine glasses are also available with a white droplet under the name Intermezzo Satin.
Limited Edition
BonBon
Design: Ingegerd Råman
The popular designer Ingegerd Råman celebrated 10 years working at Orrefors in 2010 by designing the limited series BonBon, a collection of 10 small vases, each radiating a unique expression and exemplifying the diversity of the Orrefors glass craft. Techniques like sand carving, painting, cutting and engraving, all done by hand by skilled artisans at the Orrefors glassworks. BonBon is a jewel for the table and a credit to the craft. Now the family is being expanded with yet another gem: a sand-carved white vase with hand-painted white-on-white decor.
