Martti Rytkönen

Martti Rytkönen (born 1960) grew up in North Karelia, Finland. He studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm with a focus on glass and ceramics.

Rytkönen came to Orrefors as an Orrefors scholarship recipient in 1994, and then continued working for the brand. He is particularly known for his graphic effects and the designs he creates by cutting, blasting and engraving. His work is represented at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg and Småland Museum in Växjö. For Orrefors, Rytkönen has designed barware collections including City and Peak.
